The Village of Pleasant Plains offers a range of community services designed to enhance the quality of life for our residents. From public safety to recreational programs, we are committed to meeting the needs of our community.
Pleasant Plains is a village in Sangamon County, Illinois, United States. The population was 809 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Springfield, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village was incorporated April 8, 1876

How to contact the Police in both Emergency and Non-Emergency situations in and around the Village of Pleasant Plains:
In an Emergency for Police or Medical Services, call 911.
If it is not an emergency, but an officer is needed right away for a call within the village limits of Pleasant Plains, call Sangamon County Central Dispatch at 217-753-6666, and they will contact us.
If you need to speak to an officer about a concern within the Village limits and it is not an emergency, or an officer is not needed right away, you may call our office at 217-626-1351. Please leave a detailed message, along with a callback number, and we will call you back as soon as we retrieve the message.
If the police are needed outside the Village limits, in Rural Sangamon County, call the Sangamon County Dispatch Non-Emergency number at 217-753-6666.
For reporting accidents, reckless drivers, stranded motorists, or any other types of calls that occur on State Route 125 outside the Village limits, call 911 or the Illinois State Police Non-Emergency number at 217-786-6677.

The water bill is due on the 15th of the month.
For your convenience, we offer 7 ways for you to make payments on your water account:
1. By mail: PO Box 177, Pleasant Plains, IL 62677.
2. At the Village Hall during business hours 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday - Friday.
3. At the Village Hall after business hours through the drop slot, located at the front of the building.
4. At the Illinois National Bank bank during their business hours of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.
5. At the Illinois National Bank by the night deposit.
6. By Automatic Cash Withdrawal.

Village of Pleasant Plains Water District Customers:
As of 2/20/26, along with receiving a paper bill in the mail, customers who have an email address on their water account will also receive a water bill via email. The email will contain your balance and a copy of your water bill.
If you did not receive an email from us and would like to receive your bill via email going forward, please email us your updated information at water@pleasantplainsillinois.org.
If you prefer, you can mail us your updated information when you send in your monthly payment with your bill stub. Or call our office at 217 626-1024 and we would be happy to assist with getting you set up to receive your monthly bill via email.
